Love this storyThis story has one of the best cultivation systems I have seen in a series。 The characters in the story are engaging and their growth in power and character are shown brilliantly as the story progresses。 Once I started the series I haven't been able to stop and I am excited for what the author has in store for us in the future。 Love this storyThis story has one of the best cultivation systems I have seen in a series。 The characters in the story are engaging and their growth in power and character are shown brilliantly as the story progresses。 Once I started the series I haven't been able to stop and I am excited for what the author has in store for us in the future。 。。。more
Michael,
hard to put downThe story of Matt’s journey and his rise through the tiers beautifully written and intertwined with just the right amount of worlds building and side stories to keep you engaged。 Sink your teeth into this new story and don’t let it go till your done。
Ben,
This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Started off well, but it felt like the author really didn’t plan things out。 It felt like mana conc was added as an after thought to try and prevent the mc from scaling too hard。 But even this doesn’t check out。 Author if you don’t want your mc to end up OP maybe don’t give them a talent which lets them end up with the potential to have over a quadrillion more mana than any other mage …
Shrewd255,
Quite a painful read, the story has no tension, no incentive for getting stronger but for the sake of it。 What really frustrated me was the lack of any challenge faced by the protagonist, he just seemed to breeze through everything。
Junior,
While the writing is pretty decent, this novel suffers from the same malady as many other web novels。 The author is in need of a good editor to pear down the story to increase its punch。 When you could consolidate the second and third "arcs" down to "They played capture the flag for 60+ chapters and got a couple new skills" and sacrifice *nothing* in the actual progression of the characters or the story then you are needlessly padding the narrative in a fatal way。Got to chapter 106 and just not While the writing is pretty decent, this novel suffers from the same malady as many other web novels。 The author is in need of a good editor to pear down the story to increase its punch。 When you could consolidate the second and third "arcs" down to "They played capture the flag for 60+ chapters and got a couple new skills" and sacrifice *nothing* in the actual progression of the characters or the story then you are needlessly padding the narrative in a fatal way。Got to chapter 106 and just not sure I have any interest to continue。 The "Path" in the story (where the book title comes from) is supposed to go to Tier 25 and actual ascension is at 50。 We're 100+ chapters in and they are at (view spoiler)[Tier 6 (hide spoiler)]??? The author is just milking their patreons at this point。 。。。more
Topher,
I believe this covers only book one - though as it's marked as web serial, perhaps it covers all of it。Regardless, I've been enjoying this story。 The writing is smooth, and I've enjoyed the character。 There is the right amount of ridiculous to the story to offer the occasional moment of levity as well。Finally, this one helped me realize that I've been reading a lot of litrpg (hence, ya know, the shelf) without really liking litrpg。 I skip the tables。 Seeing numbers get bigger doesn't mean much t I believe this covers only book one - though as it's marked as web serial, perhaps it covers all of it。Regardless, I've been enjoying this story。 The writing is smooth, and I've enjoyed the character。 There is the right amount of ridiculous to the story to offer the occasional moment of levity as well。Finally, this one helped me realize that I've been reading a lot of litrpg (hence, ya know, the shelf) without really liking litrpg。 I skip the tables。 Seeing numbers get bigger doesn't mean much to me, as I'm not memorizing the numbers to see them go up。 I do like xinxia / cultivation / isekai / etc - and some litrpg leans more heavily into those elements。 This story described itself as having a litrpg candy shell with a chewy cultivation center, which seems like a fair enough description。Regardless, I liked it! 。。。more
Timm,
I enjoyed the start thought it had a fun premise。 Then it turned into a power trip with no tension。 Sure there is danger and well written combat scenes but MC is never in any danger of dying & knows it because a “god lvl power” will prevent it。 This kind of ruined it for me I dont know why the author made the plot armor so blatant Felt like if percy jackson had apollo ready to intervene and prevent his death 24/7 and eventually gets Athena to train him in the ways of combat to power trip the MC I enjoyed the start thought it had a fun premise。 Then it turned into a power trip with no tension。 Sure there is danger and well written combat scenes but MC is never in any danger of dying & knows it because a “god lvl power” will prevent it。 This kind of ruined it for me I dont know why the author made the plot armor so blatant Felt like if percy jackson had apollo ready to intervene and prevent his death 24/7 and eventually gets Athena to train him in the ways of combat to power trip the MC even more 。。。more
